Campanya anellament a l’illa de l’Aire
Com ja ve sent habitual en els darrers anys, la SOM (Societat Ornitològica de Menorca) organitza una campanya d’anellament durant la migració primaveral, emmarcada al projecte Piccole Isole. El lloc on es durà a terme serà l’illa de l’Aire , una estació que està operativa a la primavera des de l’any 1993. Les dates de la campanya seran des de l’1 d’abril fins al 15 de maig.
Aquesta campanya comptarà amb la presència d’un anellador expert, que és el responsable de l’estació, dels anellaments i en resum de tota la feina que es desenvolupa al voltant d’aquesta campanya.
Com s’ha vingut fent des de l’inici del projecte la SOM ofereix la possibilitat de participar com a voluntari en aquestes campanyes. La presència d’anelladors, auxiliars i ajudants voluntaris en general és bàsica per a poder dur a terme aquest projecte. Com l’any passat, la manca de finançament fa que no es pugui oferir la manutenció gratuïta ni tampoc els trasllats a l’illot. En concret TOTS els col•laboradors, tant locals com de fora, hauran de pagar 10 € diaris per poder fer front a les despeses de manutenció i trasllats a l’illot. Els anelladors experts que quedin encarregats de l’estació no hauran de pagar. Aquest any es necessiten tant col•laboradors com anelladors experts, per a poder cobrir els 45 dies de campanya.
Durant les darreres campanyes s’han anellat a l’illa de l’Aire una mitjana de 3000 ocells per any, destacant sempre algunes captures d’espècies rares com Sylvia curruca, Ficedula albicollis, o altres no tant rares però que s’anellen amb números prou interessants (Hippolais icterina, Phylloscopus sibilatrix, Emberiza hortulana,…), així com també dies de captures molt abundants (s’han arribat a capturar més de 600 ocells en una sola jornada).
També són interessants les poblacions d’altres espècies que nidifiquen a l’illot. Durant la campanya aprofitam per fer un seguiment de les mateixes.
