Censos d’aus aquàtiques i dormidors d’ardeids, gener 2015

Aquest proper cap de setmana tindran lloc els censos anuals d’aus aquàtiques i dormidors d’ardeids que des de fa més de deu anys coordina la Societat Ornitològica de Menorca (SOM).
El cens d’aus aquàtiques s’emmarca dins el programa internacional de censos (IWC, International Waterbird Census) que coordina l’organització Wetlands International a nivell global des de 1967. A Menorca, se censen un total de 13 zones humides repartides per tota la geografia insular. L’any passat (2014) es van censar un total de 4.730 aus de 42 espècies diferents.
El cens de dormidors d’ardeids és una iniciativa de les diferents entitats ornitològiques de les Balears (GOB Mallorca, GEN-GOB Eivissa i Formentera i SOM Menorca) que va començar de forma coordinada l’any 2007. En l’actualitat, a Menorca, se censen un total de 10 localitats i l’any 2014 es van comptabilitzar un total de 410 ocells entre ardeids i corb marins.
Aquest any les dates previstes són: el divendres 16 de gener pel cens de dormidors d’ardeids i el diumenge 18 de gener per al cens d’aus aquàtiques.
Totes aquelles persones que vulgueu col·laborar amb la SOM en aquests censos us podeu posar en contacte amb el seu coordinador, Xavi Méndez, a traves del correu xabiermendez@hotmail.com o al telèfon 672 095 812. Ell us assignarà a una zona i us posarà en contacte amb el responsable de cada àrea. No és necessari tenir molta experiència en activitats com aquesta ja que sempre hi haurà un membre de l’entitat experimentat en aquest tipus de cens.
Com ja es tradicional. després del cens de diumenge, farem el dinar de St. Antoni tots junts, obert a tothom que hi vulgui venir (tant si participen al cens com si no). El dinar tindrà lloc al Chivito de Maó el diumenge després del cens, per apuntar-se i per més detalls us podeu posar en contacte amb Joan Florit al telèfon 607.48.56.24 o al correu xoroi1968@gmail.com. El menú que ens han preparat i el preu ho podeu veure a continuació:
1er. Caldereta de rap i marisc
2n. Carn rostida as forn
Refresc, aigua i vins
Cafè i tortada
El preu és de 15 € pels adults i 10 € pels fiets
Es prega confirmació per apuntar-se al dinar abans de divendres vespre.
