FINAL DE LA CAMPANYA D’ANELLAMENT A L’ILLA DE L’AIRE TARDOR 2014
La campanya d’anellament postnupcial, o de tardor, a l’illa de l’Aire 2014 ha arribat a la seva fi. L’inici d’aquest estudi va ser el 28 de setembre i va acabar el passat 1 de novembre, en total 35 dies de feina. Amb aquesta campanya hem iniciat el primer dels cincs anys de seguiment previstos per l’estudi de la migració dels ocells durant la tardor. Hem de dir que les dates triades per dur a terme aquest estudi són les més adients per capturar ocells presaharians, grup al que volem dedicar l’esforç amb aquesta nova campanya. Tot i açò, els migrants transaharians (com el seu nom indica són els que travessen el desert del Sàhara per anar a passar l’hivern al sud d’aquest) també s’han anat capturant. Amb aquestes dades hem obtingut el final del pas d’aquest darrer grup de migrants i l’inici del grup dels presaharians, fins ben entrada l’època de migració a principis de novembre.
L’objectiu principal d’aquest estudi a llarg termini és aconseguir el màxim de dades, preses de la manera més rigorosa possible, per poder avaluar al final del projecte possibles canvis en la fenologia migratòria d’aquestes espècies, sobretot les causades pel canvi climàtic, un dels problemes més grans que troben els ocells migradors en aquests moments que, juntament amb la caça i la disminució d’hàbitats disponibles, són les principals causes de la baixada en el nombre d’exemplars d’aquestes espècies.
Segons uns estudis recents, els ocells comuns han disminuït en més de 420 milions d’exemplars en els darrers 30 anys segons un estudi dut a terme a 25 països diferents d’Europa.

Encara que ens falten moltes dades per processar, pendents de l’elaboració d’una memòria final, sí que podem avançar que s’han anellat 3.197 ocells, de 45 espècies diferents, que han emprat aquesta petita illa com a parada en el seu viatge de tornada a Àfrica en aquesta època de l’any.
D’aquestes espècies podem destacar, per l’elevat nombre de captures, les següents: el ropit (Erithacus rubecula), el més anellat amb diferència, amb 1.849 exemplars capturats. En segon lloc, en nombre de captures, trobam el tord blanc (Turdus philomelos) amb 417 anellaments. També s’han capturat per damunt dels 100 exemplars el busqueret de capell (Sylvia atricapilla) amb 141 ex. i l’ull de bou comú (Phylloscopus collybita) amb 237 exemplars anellats. Són destacables també els 59 anellaments de tord negre (Turdus merula), que tot i ser una espècie sedentària a Menorca, també la trobam en migració, com ho demostren aquests alts nombres de captures. Per acabar aquest apartat citar els 36 anellaments de pinsà (Fringilla coelebs), una altra espècie sedentària i migrant alhora. Destaquen la captura de dues aus considerades com a rareses a l’Estat espanyol, un busqueret xerraire (Sylvia curruca) i un ull de bou billistat (Phylloscopus inornatus), i la recuperació d’un ropit (Erithacus rubecula) amb anella lituana. Curioses són també les 14 captures del reietó (Regulus regulus) i les 4 del reietó cellablanca (Regulus ignicapilla), els passeriformes més petits d’Europa, que difícilment arriben a pesar 5 grams i migren des del sud d’Europa fins al nord d’Àfrica.
Altres curiositats que citam en aquest informe és la diferència de captures en diferents dies, amb un sol anellament el pitjor dia de la campanya i 436 el dia de màximes captures.
De les 45 espècies només una ha estat anellada per primera vegada, tot i ser molt comuna a l’hivern a Menorca. És l’arner, martín pescador en castellà (Alcedo atthis).
La Societat Ornitològica de Menorca (SOM), vol agrair la col•laboració de diversos patrocinadors, institucions i voluntaris (totes les persones participants). Sense aquesta ajuda financera i humana no es podria mantenir una campanya de 35 dies ininterromputs a l’illa. Actualment és difícil trobar ajuda financera per a aquests projectes, per això, agraïm a Conserves CUCA, productes Italians NEGRINI i a YURRITA SL la seva inestimable col•laboració.
A més, agraïm també l’ajuda prestada per l’IME, l’OBSAM i l’AUTORITAT PORTUÀRIA de Maó i a les empreses nàutiques S’ALGAR DIVING i PEDRO’S BOAT CENTER. Han col•laborat també JJ CARRERAS TOT ALIMENTACIÓ i el restaurant CHIVITO MÔ. Félix de Pablo i Rafel Triay pel seu suport logístic. Als anelladors Santi Catchot, Raül Escandell, Jara Juan, Óscar Garcia i Xavi Méndez i un llarg nombre de futurs anelladors i col•laboradors, com ara Sandra Morujo, Xavi Alifonso, Javi Gómez, Nara Triay, Marina Pons, Salva Ramos, Juan Jose Carreras, Joan Florit, Lola Murillo, Mònica Orfila, Josepa Rubio, Manuel Pascual i Magda Seoane. Amb l’esforç de tots ells s’ha dut a terme, per primera vegada, un seguiment exhaustiu del pas migratori sobre l’illa de l’Aire a la tardor.
