DARRERA JORNADA DELS OCELLS DEL TEU POBLE AL PARC DES FREGINAL
Aquest passat cap de setmana es va celebrar la darrera jornada d’“Els Ocells del Teu Poble”, un programa de divulgació per donar a conèixer els ocells que viuen als parcs urbans maonesos, impulsat per la Societat Ornitològica de Menorca i l’Ajuntament de Maó. Quatre jornades repartides entre els mesos de tardor i hivern als parcs Rubió i Tudurí i es Freginal, on tots els assistents han pogut conèixer millor o descobrir, en alguns casos, molts dels petits ocells que comparteixen l’espai amb nosaltres, el nostre, seu, poble, i que troben als parcs un refugi per viure, alimentar-se, passar les nits o tot l’hivern en alguns casos. Una manera amena i divertida d’aprendre a estimar la natura a través de les aus.
Durant aquest programa d’activitats s’han observat un total de 19 espècies. Deu d’elles s’han detectat als dos parcs: el rupit, el coa-roja de barraca, la tórtora turca, el tord negre, el tord blanc, la titeta blanca, el pardal, l’ull de bou, el busqueret de capell i la primavera. Mentre que només s’han observat al Parc Rubió i Tudurí: el busqueret capnegre, la cadernera, el reietó i el tudó; i al Parc des Freginal: la titeta sorda, el colom, el xòric i el puput. Un important nombre d’espècies, de les quals 9 corresponen a ocells hivernants a Menorca, aus que tornaran als propers mesos cap a les seves zones de cria al continent europeu, mentre que 11 espècies es consideren sedentàries a l’illa i gairebé totes continuaran als parcs on compartiran l’espai a l’època de cria amb altres espècies que vindran a la primavera del continent africà a criar a ca nostra com el menjamosques, el rossinyol o la tórtora.
Aquestes jornades, a més del seu caràcter divulgatiu, també ens han servit per seguir recollint informació sobre les poblacions d’aus d’aquests dos parcs. L’anellament científic, mètode utilitzat durant aquestes jornades, ens ha permès corroborar la presència de dues espècies sedentàries al parc Rubió i Tudurí. Una és el busqueret capnegre, espècie de la qual es va recuperar a la jornada del novembre un ocell anellat com a adult al mateix parc al mes de juny del 2015, 544 dies abans. L’altre és el cas d’un tord negre mascle adult, recuperat a la mateixa jornada i que havia estat anellat el 7 de març d’aquest mateix any, qui, molt possiblement, va néixer al parc a l’estiu del 2015. També hem pogut confirmar la utilització dels parcs com a zona d’hivernada per a moltes espècies, com és el cas d’un rupit anellat al Parc Rubió i Tudurí el 26 de novembre del 2016 i recuperat al mateix parc el 14 de gener del 2017. Però el cas més curiós ha estat el d’un rupit recuperat també el 26 de novembre i que havia estat anellat per membres de la SOM el 27 de març d’aquest mateix any a l’illa de l’Aire, durant l’estudi de les poblacions migradores que duu a terme l’entitat en aquest illot del llevant menorquí. Un ocell que després d’haver estat anellat a l’Aire va anar a la seva zona de cria al continent europeu i que després, un cop finalitzada aquesta, va tornar a passar per Menorca, possiblement per passar-hi tot l’hivern.
Un dels aspectes que més ens ha sorprès és la manca d’observacions al parc des Freginal de busqueret capnegre, un dels ocells més comuns i ben distribuïts de l’illa, el qual sí que havia estat detectat en anys anteriors (2010, 2012 i 2014). I el que més ens preocupa és la presència de moixos, els quals depreden sobre les poblacions d’aus, principalment en època de cria, i poden ser una de les causes de la manca d’observacions de busqueret capnegre al parc des Freginal.
No volem tancar aquest programa sense agrair la presència de totes les persones que han assistit a alguna d’aquestes jornades i esperem que hagin gaudit, tant com ho hem fet nosaltres, dels ocells del nostre poble. Agrair també la col·laboració del departament de medi ambient de l’ajuntament de Maó i de la brigada d’obres.
També us volem informar que en els propers dies es faran públics els noms dels guanyadors del concurs de dibuix de “l’Ocell del teu Poble”, i agraïm la participació de tots els fillets i les filletes que hi han participat i que han posat molt difícil l’elecció al jurat.
